HEALTH - THE COMMON COLD

It's that time of year when we start feeling all types of ill-ish symptoms. As it's the week end I know you'll have a little more time to read so here's some info for you;
The common cold what is it? It is a virus that attaches itself to the lining of the nose and throat and is transmitted through airborne mucus droplets or transferred from surfaces. Cold viruses can live on water-resistant surface for more than 24 hours and on hands for more than an hour! This info might make you feel like wearing gloves all the time. Our white blood cells that try to tackle the infection cause nasal tissues to become inflamed and produce excess mucus. Sneezing is one of the ways your body tries to expel the virus. How can we avoid catching a cold? Generally you can only protect yourself. Here are two ways of protecting yourself. Wash your hands before and after your daily task and especially when you arrive home from being on TfL (Yes I'm a Londoner) Avoid touching your face. Last but not least take supplements to build-up your immune system.
