My journey; From Beginner to Certified Beauty therapist.
In 1974, I took my first step into the beauty world with an introductory course in beauty therapy. My parents congratulated me then advised that I go and get a real job. So like a good girl that's exactly what I did.
Life took me in different directions — I worked full-time in an office and within a short time I found it necessary to take a second job as a skincare consultant.
I didn’t have time for college, so I pursued individual units to complete my beauty journey as I needed them: from nail enhancement technology, waxing, to electrolysis.
These qualifications allowed me to run a successful salon for 30 years.
When I transitioned to lecturing [initially] part-time on beauty courses, I realised I needed full accreditation to progress in the education field of beauty therapy.
I was fortunate enough to be able to take a year out for study only.
I completed both Level 2 and Level 3 beauty courses to meet the college requirements.
I share my journey with you because I know the challenges of balancing life and education. But today, there’s a better way — online courses. With flexible schedules and focused learning, you can achieve your goals without sacrificing time.
